What is kindergarten?
Kindergarten is the education and care program offered to young children in the year prior to school entry. It is often considered the first step into a more formal learning environment. Please note that all young children in the year prior to school entry need to attend either funded 4 year old Kinder Program or Government funded kindergarten.
Why should my child attend kindergarten?
While kindergarten is not compulsory, attending kinder offers children a range of benefits that focus on promoting school readiness. In recognition of this, the Victorian Government provides funding to kindergartens to enable all children to access one year of kindergarten prior to formal schooling.
Does Bonkers Beat offer funded kindergarten program?
Yes, Bonkers Beat offers a funded kinder program.
What does Bonkers Beat funded kinder program provide?
The kindergarten program provides education by university qualified early childhood educators, who work to engage children in learning and thinking, creating positive relationships and promoting school readiness. In addition to this, Bonkers Beat provides programs, which focus on music, yoga, meditation, literacy, numeracy, sustainability practices and free play. Bonkers Beat enhances children’s learning through music, enhances creativity and imagination, integrates Montessori approach and promotes children’s independence and self-regulation.
Does my child have to attend kindergarten at specific times?
At Bonkers Beat our kinder program runs Monday to Friday, from 9:00am until 4:30pm, so you have the freedom to choose which days suit you more. To fulfil the government funded program requirements, your child must attend kinder at least 15 hours per week (a minimum of two days per week of your choice).
Do kindergartens care for my child throughout school holidays?
Bonkers Beat kinder runs 52 weeks a year and is only closed on public holidays and two staff curriculum days, so there is no need to source extra care for children during school holidays.
Is my child eligible to attend a funded kinder program?
A child who is four years of age by the 30th of April in the year they will attend is eligible to attend a fundedkindergarten program.
However, in line with international research and evidence of emotional and social developmental stages, Bonkers Beat has developed a policy of accepting children into the funded kinder program, who have already turned four prior to January of the year they will attend.
How much will I pay for the funded kinder program at Bonkers Beat?
The daily rate will be the same as the three-year old kinder at Bonkers Beat and the Child Care Benefit scheme will apply to all eligible parents enrolling their children for the kinder program.
How can I secure a spot for the funded kinder program at Bonkers Beat?
As we have a high demand for our funded kinder program, we will give priority to children, who will be enrolled exclusively at Bonkers Beat for our funded kinder program.
